Ingredients

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 loaf French baguette sliced at a slight diagonal into ¼-inch thick pieces

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Using a pastry brush, generously coat both sides of each baguette slice with olive oil. Evenly sprinkle the slices with kosher salt and a dusting of garlic powder on both sides to ensure full coverage.
  3. Arrange the seasoned slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they do not overlap.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the undersides turn a rich golden brown. Carefully flip each slice over and continue baking for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, watching closely to avoid over-browning.
  5. Allow the toasted baguette slices to cool completely on a wire rack. Once cooled, they are ready to be served alongside dips, or topped with your favorite spreads and garnishes.
