Ingredients

  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 cup raw sunflower seed kernels
  • ½ teaspoon avocado oil or olive oil as an alternative

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper to prevent sticking and simplify cleanup.
  2. Arrange the raw sunflower seeds in a mound at the center of the baking sheet. Drizzle the avocado oil over the seeds, then sprinkle with fine sea salt. Using clean hands, gently toss and rub the seeds until they are thoroughly coated with oil and evenly seasoned.
  3. Spread the seeds into a uniform single layer across the baking sheet, ensuring they roast evenly. Transfer the sheet to the oven and bake for 8 to 12 minutes, keeping a close watch as the seeds turn a golden brown.
  4. Once removed from the oven, allow the seeds to rest on the baking sheet for 5 to 10 minutes. This step lets them finish cooking and crisping up as they cool. Enjoy them warm or transfer them to an airtight container for later snacking or topping salads and dishes.
