Cuisine: Filipino

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooking oil
  • 50 pieces lumpia wrapper
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground pork
  • 2 pieces onion minced
  • 2 pieces carrots minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup parsley chopped

Method

  1. Begin by combining all the filling ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Ensure the mixture is thoroughly blended.
  2. Take a lumpia wrapper and place approximately 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of the filling onto it. Evenly spread the filling across the wrapper, then fold both sides towards the center. Next, fold the bottom part of the wrapper over the filling. Brush the beaten egg mixture along the top edge of the wrapper to seal it, then roll it up tightly. Repeat this process until all the filling is used up.
  3. In a cooking pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the lumpia in the oil and deep fry until they float to the surface and achieve a golden-brown color.
  4. Remove the lumpia from the pot and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil. Serve the crispy lumpia hot and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce. Share this delightful snack with friends and family.
