Ingredients
Method
- Begin by seasoning the ground beef with a pinch of salt and pepper. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion becomes tender. Drain any excess grease.
- Add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, dried parsley, garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar to the skillet. Stir everything together until well mixed.
- Bring the sauce to a gentle boil, then slowly pour in the water, stirring to combine. Once everything is well incorporated, reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend beautifully.
- Just before serving, stir in the fresh basil if you’re using it for an added burst of flavor. This sauce pairs perfectly with spaghetti noodles and can also be used in dishes like Spaghetti Pie, Million Dollar Spaghetti, Slow Cooker Lasagna, or Instant Pot Spaghetti.
