Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 cans 15 oz each tomato sauce
  • 2 cans 15 oz each petite diced tomatoes
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp seasoned salt
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni noodles
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method

  1. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, toss in the diced onion, bell pepper, and ground beef. Cook, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess fat, then return the pot to the heat. Stir in the garlic and let it cook for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant.
  2. Next, pour in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, and uncooked macaroni. Stir everything together well and bring the mixture to a boil. Once it reaches a boil, lower the heat to maintain a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Cook for about 20 minutes or until the pasta is tender.
  3. Once done, remove the bay leaves and mix in the shredded cheddar cheese. Serve hot and enjoy!
