Prep Time 10 minutes
Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 20 small chocolate balls
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: Scandinavian

Ingredients

To make the balls:
  • 3/4 dl 1/3 cup sugar
  • 100 g 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 dl 1 1/5 cup oatmeal (flaked oats)
  • 3 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla powder
  • 2-3 tbsp strong cold coffee or water
For rolling:
  • 1 dl 2/5 cups desiccated coconut

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, blend the softened butter and sugar together with a spoon until you achieve a creamy consistency.
  2. Add the oatmeal, vanilla powder, cacao powder, and coffee (or water) to the mixture. Using a spoon or, if you prefer, your hands, mix everything thoroughly until a smooth, pliable batter forms.
  3. Shape the batter into small balls. Traditionally, these are slightly smaller than a golf ball, but feel free to make them any size you like.
  4. Spread the desiccated coconut on a plate. Roll each chocolate ball in the coconut until it is fully coated.
  5. Place the chocolate balls in the refrigerator to set.
  6. Optional: Consider securing the fridge with a lock if you don’t want these delightful treats to disappear right away!
