Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cups cooked white rice cold
  • 1 cup cooked chopped chicken meat
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Method

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water. Heat butter in a large skillet or wok over medium-low heat. Pour in the egg mixture and let it cook undisturbed for 1 to 2 minutes until set. Remove the cooked egg, cut it into thin strips, and set aside.
  3. Using the same skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3 minutes until it becomes soft and translucent. Stir in the cold, cooked rice, ensuring it is well separated. Add the chopped chicken, soy sauce, and ground black pepper, and continue to cook, stirring frequently, for around 5 minutes. Finally, mix in the shredded egg and stir until everything is well combined and heated through. Serve immediately while hot.
